Post "Konkatsu!" closes above 10%

It was learned today that the final episode of Fuji TV's Monday night drama series "Konkatsu!" achieved a 10.5% average viewership rating in the Kanto region. As a drama in the network's typically popular "Getsu 9" time slot, the ratings have been below expectations all season, but the show made a small rally in ratings with this finale.

The show, co-starring SMAP member Masahiro Nakai (36) and actress Aya Ueto (23), achieved a rating of 16.3% for the first episode, but it dropped to 11.2% for the second. The third episode brought the series below the 10% mark with a 9.4% rating. The tenth episode, which aired last week, slipped to 8.8%, the record worst for a "Getsu 9" drama.

poor Nakai...it must be really humiliating to have his drama labeled the worst Getsu9 drama in record..lol

maybe he shoulddn't bring in Ueda of KT to co-star with him...people think he's using his drama to promote a junior..not good..

Shouldn't you be saying "maybe he shouldn't co-star with Aya Ueto again"? We don't want this to be a 50-page thread on another KAT-TUN member, just because of something so stupid.

i'm curious to know why the SMAP and KAT-TUN fans couldn't save this drama.

shows how childish those KAT-TUN critics are...always blaming KAT-TUN fans like as if it's their fault *shakes head*

if anyone is curious, I actually came across quite a lot of people who thought this drama was pretty "boring"...so why blame this on Ueda? If the storyline is boring, then people won't watch, it's as simple as that.

don't you mean kat-tun members?

it's just ironic of those kat-tun critics these days...always seems to blame those kat-tun members whenever things go badly, no matter how unreasonable their arguments are.

Oh yes, I meant KAT-TUN members! xP

Just look at Kame's 'Kami no Shizuku' drama, the main problem people had with that drama was its boring storyline, even Kame's large fanbase in Japan wasn't able to push the ratings up.

So it just goes to show that no matter how popular the casts are, if the storyline fails to keep the viewers interested, then naturally the ratings would go down.

I personally have not seen 'Konkatsu' yet, but I have some across quite a lot of people who said it was "boring".
But look on the bright side, at least this drama still had much higher ratings that Kame's KnS!

On the other hand, Konkatsu! has consistently ranked as one of the top ten most recorded shows every week. Even if people didn't watch it live, they still thought it was worth recording, and viewer ratings don't include recordings.

what? you KAT-TUN fans are not going to say actually "Ueda is the rating savior" and it was Ueda who saved Konkatsu from slipping further?
