Gravure idol Sayaka Tashiro (23) snapped the Achilles tendon in her left foot, it was learned on Thursday. She was taken to a hospital and underwent a successful three-hour surgery, though she will need about five months for the injury to completely heal.
A week ago, Tashiro was playing in a futsal match as part of Horipro's team, Xanadu loves NHC. It was a practice game against the Nakatsu Shooters. Tashiro, who normally serves as goalkeeper, was moved to a fielder position due to a shortage of players. While dribbling the ball on offense, she twisted her leg and fell down. Staff members who rushed to her aid said that she reported hearing a snapping sound, and she was quickly transported to a hospital. The game was being broadcast live on TBS, but the accident apparently occurred right after it went off the air. The match was still going on but was stopped due to Tashiro's injury. Tashiro has been discharged from the hospital, but is currently going through rehabilitation. Unfortunately for her team, she will be unable to play in a futsal tournament on July 5. However, she has declared that she will still attend a fan event on Sunday for the DVD release of the manga-to-film adaptation "18 Rin," which Tashiro stars in. Link to article |
