Post Oricon: drama sequels you would like to see

In March, Oricon polled a group of 900 men and women ages 20-49, asking them which television dramas they would like to see return for another series. Mystery and police shows dominated the list, with #1 being taken by Fuji TV's "Furuhata Ninzaburo," which starred Masakazu Tamura. The show ran for three seasons during the 1990s, but due to its popularity, it was revived for three specials in 2006 and one last year.

At #2 was "Odoru Daisousasen," also known by the English title "Bayside Shakedown." Starring Yuji Oda, the franchise spawned multiple specials and movies. In fact, the second film, released in 2003, currently holds the record for the highest-grossing Japanese live-action film at over 17.3 billion yen.

Ryoko Shinohara's "Haken no Hinkaku" stood out at #3, being one of the few comedies in the top ten and the only one in an office setting. It was also the only representative for NTV. Aside from two TV Asahi dramas, the rest of the top ten were all broadcast by Fuji TV.
  1. Furuhata Ninzaburo
  2. Odoru Daisousasen
  3. Haken no Hinkaku
  4. Galileo
  5. SP
  6. TRICK
  7. Nodame Cantabile
  8. Dr. Koto Shinryojo
  9. Jikou Keisatsu
  10. Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji

Glad to see "Jikou keisatsu" on the list. I love that goofy show... want more Kiriyama & Juumonji!

i'm watching galileo right now. i've heard good stuff, see if i'd like to see a sequel to that. but definitely i'd pay money to see nodame cantabile sequels. i know they're about to film 2 movies back to back but i'd still like to see a drama sequel.

i'd like to see a sequel to bloody monday, tatta hitotsu no koi. liar game, but it's already been announced and a movie too so i'm happy.

i do wanna check out jikou keisatsu. but 2 jikou keisatsu and 3 trick dramas weren't enough?

I'm not sure there can ever be enough of Trick. Nakama Yukie + Abe Hiroshi is a brilliant combination!

Never!

Actually, yeah, I'd also like to see a new season of Trick... it's been, what, 5 or more years since the last season? And Abe seems to be in peak form right now. (Which reminds me I need to start watching Shiroi haru... )

Jikou Keisatsu, Jikou Keisatsu, Jikou Keisatsu!

I just loved the antics and characters. I thought a lot of people didn't enjoy its bizarre and subtle humor. I'm glad to be in some good company.

Oh, Trick too but there's been movies/specials...

...and I'd like to see a Gonzo 2. But that isn't going to happen, that case is closed.

yeah! ROOKIES was a good drama, I found it more realistic, it may not be the best but really enjoyable. We will have the movie soon so we're not far from having a sequel ^^

And yay for Nodame Cantabile! that is my favorite drama so far.

I've got to watch the dramas on that list haha I currently have Galileo and Dr. Koto on my list since they aired but I think I'll give it a shot the other ones too 8D

and err... no TBS? DD:
