Post Kazunari Ninomiya, Mao Inoue play couple in drama special

Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya (25) and actress Mao Inoue (22) will co-star in a drama special on TBS. The story is based on two novels written by professional windsurfer Natsuki Iijima, who died of cancer in 2005.

During Iijima's battle with cancer, he wrote an essay titled "Gan ni Ikasarete," which formed part of the basis for the 2007 film "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," a biography of Iijima that starred Takao Osawa and Misaki Ito. Around the same time, Iijima penned a novel also titled "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," as well as a sequel titled "Kamisama ga Kureta Namida." The drama special is based on those two books, which sold more than 450,000 copies combined.

The drama is also being called "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara." Ninomiya plays the main character, a psychiatrist working in the counseling room of a cancer treatment center by the beach. While tending to the patients, part of his job involves taking dictation from them when they want to send a letter to a loved one.

Inoue plays the psychiatrist's wife and mother to the couple's twin daughters. Other cast members include Nobuko Miyamoto as a nurse, Yusuke Santamaria as a surgeon, and Naoto Ogata as the owner of a surf shop.

The broadcast date for the drama has not yet been determined.

It is hard to imagine Ninomiya as a father, lol. But I would love it more if they pick Arashi's Jun Matsumoto instead or News' Yamapi (for all the Yamaopi out there)

i'm thinking its because ninomiya is a more flexible actor than those two you mentioned. and if you take a look at his acting history, it is colorful and diverse roles are interesting.

^ Agreed. Inoue Mao would out-act both Yamapi and Matsujun. :3

Nino is the best actor in his generation. Yamapi couldn't hold a candle to him and Matsujun is a better actor than Yamapi but not as talented in acting as Nino.

Nino and MatsuJun have their own specific suitable character. Each of them has done a great job so far. Thus, I won't dare comparing them.

I would so dare compare them and conclude that Nino IS the better actor. They are no rivals though since both are in the same group and respect each other very much but technically and truthfully, Nino totally pwns Jun-pon as an actor.

I agree. As much as I like Jun as Domyouji (my fav character by him so far), I still think he has a long way to go. The way I see it, Nino has a flair for acting while Jun acquires it through experience and hard work.

I can still remember him(Nino) kissing the photo of Mao before in Arashi talk saying she is cute...Hahaha now they are playing husband and wife....Oh Jun I wonder what he will say about this???

But I think they have great chemistry...A jealous Mao I can still remember that she doesnt get jealous in any of her character before...
