The awards ceremony for the 10th Japan Media Arts Festival was held on Friday. Mamoru Hosoda's "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" took the grand prize in the Animation Division, while Kaiji Kawaguchi won in the Manga Division for his work, "A Spirit of the Sun."
In the Entertainment Division, the innovative Playstation 2 game "Okami" took the trophy, with artist credit to Hideki Kamiya. Computer artist Keiko Kimoto won in the Art Division with her work, "Imaginary Numbers 2006." A Special Achievement Prize was awarded to animation director Akira Daikuhara.
