A comic by mangaka Fujio Akatsuka ("Tensai Bakabon") is being animated, and it will be distributed through the online video site YouTube.
The gag manga "Hen na Ko-chan" "Hennako-chan" was originally serialized in Shukan Josei over a three and a half year span, starting in 1991. Due to its dirty humor, broadcasting the anime on the mainstream television networks is said to be impossible. Animation studio Gonzo is handling the conversion of the comic to digital form. It will be presented in "comic motion" format, which means that it will be mainly still images rather than being fluidly animated. A total of six 5-minute episodes are planned, with English and Chinese versions also in the works. Distribution starts on April 25. Link to article Last edited by migimaru : 08-02-2008 at 06:42 PM. |

It looks like the official title being used for this is "Hennako-chan," rather than "Hen na Ko-chan" like I initially thought.
