20th Century Fox has finally revealed details of its live-action "Dragonball" movie, based on Akira Toriyama's phenomenally successful manga of the same name. The film will star Justin Chatwin ("The Invisible," "War of the Worlds") as Goku, with James Marsters ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") playing the villian Piccolo.
Action director Stephen Chow is producing. James Wong ("Final Destination") will direct, using a script he revised from a previous draft by Ben Ramsey. Filming starts later this month. Fox has scheduled the movie for worldwide release on August 15, 2008. Link to article |

This is so going to bomb. Two crappy actors and a horrible director. That's Hollywood for you.

During his November 11 panel at Pacific Media Expo in Los Angeles, actor James Kyson Lee (Heroes television series' Ando) said that he is trying out for the role of Yamcha in 20th Century Fox's live-action adaptation of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga. He says that the movie is planned for a 2010 release and that he approved of the script so far. He also said that he was a childhood fan of manga such as Dragon Ball and Takehiko Inoue's Slam Dunk -- the latter of which he had read the entire run.
