X Japan to film PV on Aqua City rooftop

X JAPAN is reportedly filming the PV for its new song on the 22nd, appearing together in front of fans for the first time in ten years. According to a source, the band will play on a giant stage on the roof of Aqua City in Odaiba, while a large monitor displays their performance. A helicopter will also be used for shooting the video.

The song, titled "I.V.," is being used as the theme for the horror film "Saw IV." It was written and composed by Yoshiki, and is said to include a previously unreleased guitar track by hide. No CD release date has been announced yet.

TOKYO and LOS ANGELES - A decade after disbanding, X JAPAN will debut the new song " I.V." internationally as the end title for the fourth movie in the worldwide record breaking SAW franchise.

Written and composed by YOSHIKI, with lyrics completely in English due to the international target audience, the song will feature TOSHI on vocals, PATA on guitar and HEATH on bass. In attendance at TOSHI's vocal recording, YOSHIKI took the lead in overseeing the English lyrics. " I.V." also includes as yet unreleased material by HIDE, thus uniting all five long-standing members of the band.

SAW IV comes from the same team that produced Catacombs, featuring the end title song "Blue Butterfly," written and produced by YOSHIKI. Approached last July about producing the theme song for SAW IV, YOSHIKI chose X JAPAN to perform the song out of all the projects he is involved with.

X JAPAN will shoot a promotional video with a public audience at Aqua City in Odaiba, Tokyo, on October 22nd.

Jrock Revolution will feature a special at www.jrockrevolution.com on X JAPAN beginning this weekend in honor of their new work, and may also feature exclusives related to " I.V." soon. A F.A.Q. regarding questions about this release is up on the Jrock Revolution website.

Official announcements for the Japanese public are up on X JAPAN site and member sites XJAPAN.ne.jp, YOSHIKI.net, and HIDE-CITY.com. There is no information available yet about a release date for "I.V." which as of present will not be included on the movie soundtrack. As more information is made available, Jrock Revolution will provide immediate updates.

The Lions Gate film SAW IV premieres in the United States and multiple countries worldwide on October 26, 2007.
