Gravure idol Eri Murakami died of colon appendix cancer on Sunday morning, her agency announced on Thursday. She was only 26 years old.
Last November, she began suffering from stomach pains. At the start of this year, she underwent an examination and was diagnosed with cancer. She attempted to have the tumors removed, but by then it had already spread to her lungs and other areas. Murakami was the Sapporo Beer Campaign Girl in 2003 and served as the mascot girl for fabrics company Unitika in 2004-2005. She was also once a member of the futsal team HbG (which later became chakuchaku J.b). Link to article Last edited by migimaru : 07-14-2007 at 10:38 AM. |

Two clarifications:
1) It was pointed out that it was actually appendix cancer that Murakami suffered from, not colon cancer. I wasn't familiar with the term used. 2) For some reason, Sanspo reported her age using her "age at death" (kyounen 享年), which is slightly different from the usual way of talking about ages. Basically, Murakami was in her 26th year of life, which means that she was actually 25 (i.e. had celebrated 25 birthdays). |
