Model Kuroda divorces after 16 years

Model Chieko Kuroda announced that she has gotten a divorce, after 16 years of marriage.

Kuroda first became a model with JJ magazine while she was a student at Seijo University. At the age of 28, she married an employee of an apparel company and subsequently retired. A few years later, she returned to modeling, and she became much more active in the entertainment industry. As a result, she and her husband drifted apart.

The two have been legally separated since March 2005. On Wednesday, Kuroda's lawyer finalized the divorce. Kuroda is keeping custody of their 16-year-old daughter.
