Post Oguri's "Surely Someday" set for summer

In June, it was revealed that popular actor Shun Oguri (26) is making his directorial debut with a film titled "Surely Someday." Casting rumors have surfaced since then, but the distributor Shochiku finally announced some official details this week.

The story is loosely based on the bonds between Oguri and his friends from high school. The central cast consists of actors Keisuke Koide, Ryo Katsuji, Go Ayano, Ryohei Suzuki, and Tsuyoshi Muro. Additional cast members include Takashi Okamura (of Ninety-nine), Naoto Takenaka, Fuyuki Moto, and Satoshi Tsumabuki.

The five main characters form a band, hoping to gain popularity with their original song called "Surely Someday" at their school's cultural festival. Unfortunately, a foolish incident results in them dropping out of school. With their lives seemingly at a dead end, they take on the challenge of trying to turn their lives around.

Filming took place in July and August, and the project is now in editing. The film should be completed by January of next year, with a nationwide theatrical release planned for the summer.

shun is still very young, only 26 & this is only his directorial debut for a movie...so i don't think we should ask for too much...as much as i love shun & know he's a great actor...i won't ask too much from him for his directorial debut...and i won't have any high expectations...he's still so young, he may be magnificent at acting...but he is basically a amateur at directing...before this, he had only directed a commercial...but this is his first major directorial project, so my expectations won't be high.

but no matter what the outcome is, i know he always puts 110% into his work & is very focused & dedicated to his job, so i'm sure he'll do great! good luck shun!

^My thoughts exactly. That said, alot of actors who do try their hands at directing usually go for it at a later stage of their career, so seeing Oguri Shun dive in to directing at his age is really inspiring. I'm absolutely looking forward to seeing his artistic vision through his directional debut movie.

Both the title & the cast sound really great xDD

i just observed..looking at the cast, i think he chose most of his closes friends in Showbiz or not past co-workers. Unfortunately, i expect Matsujun there or not its Nino...geeeez..>

^well...maybe shun did try to ask matsujun, but he's been very busy lately with arashi work...you know, seeing as its their 10th anniversary & all, the group's been very busy...so it won't be surprising if matsujun wasn't able to take part in the movie...

oguri is a passionate kind of person and he seems very brave to actually direct a movie.i wish him all the best but i also wish he could he gain some weight too.he looks way too skinny nowadays and since he's tall he sort of resembles a pole to me.

but still...that shows how dedicated he is in this industry.
