So, who was the first artist you heard that got you into Japanese music?

I had heard a bunch of music through anime when I was younger, but I think my first real introduction to J-pop was Morning Musume (yeah, I admit it). At the same time, I also got exposed to Ayumi Hamasaki (mostly the remixes), Utada, and BoA. I later found Puffy, Shiina Ringo, and Judy and Mary, and then I was totally hooked...

i think, v6 was the first artists i heard when they sang gokusen 1's ost... if i'm not mistaken, i think it's "feel your breeze..." XD

BoA ft. Koda Kumi. XD I loved Meaning of Peace and then my Jpop obsessed friend at the time, sent me Ayu, Rurutia, OLIVIA and others. ... I don't even listen to them that much anymore, but yeah. XD

I think my very first were just anime songs.. one i can rly remember is Larc en ciel ;p

But I think the first one that really got me into J-pop is WaT which only started abt 2 years ago hehe

My first J-rock group was L'Arc~en~Ciel. Then Gackt. Then through the Gackt/Kago Ai date clip I found Morning Musume. And then found C-ute followed by Berryz. Practically all of Hello! Project. I also a fan of AKB48, Mika Nakashhma and Glay, Miyavi, Hinoi Team. Yamapi, Yuna Ito. And a few others. I recently expanded my collection whith music from The TRAX, Wonder Girls, and Hey Girl.

I think I first got into Japanese music while watching Kamen Rider Blade. I loved the theme songs. XD So then one day I heard Daite Senorita & I was like "omg wow this song is awesome" which led me to watch Kurosagi (which started me into JDramas), & led me to find NewS (which got me into JE). So since then I have adventured further into Japanese Music.

my 1st encounter for Japanese music is mostly concerning with anime and manga stuff.
Google V to be exact...always be my all time classic favorite... :D
and then Saint Seiya, Kamen Rider, Candy-Candy and Sailor Moon.

recently L'Arc en Ciel, of course...
Utada Hikaru, Arashi, GReeeeN, nobodyknows+, rize...
but my currently love is the one n only Orenji Renji aka Orange Range... :D
